At Vancouver Island Womens Clinic, we offer a range of services for women during your reproductive years, or the years from when your periods start until menopause. Our services and facility are accredited by the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons, and the National Abortion Federation. Our services include screening for sexually transmitted infections (STI), cervical cancer (PAP and HPV vaccine), early pregnancy (planned or unplanned). In our confidential setting we can provide management of miscarriage, unplanned pregnancy (abortion), STI and contraception needs (including IUDs). We do screening ultrasounds and Rh testing on site, so you can get most of the testing you need in one location. Our nursing staff are specially qualified in birth control education, PAP and STI screening and treatment, and SPR. Some have ACLS and IV sedation certification and others have advanced training in counselling. Our physicians (all women) are accredited in a range of skills including early pregnancy ultrasounds, Rh testing, anaesthesia and IUD insertion. They maintain annual educational competency in those areas, so that they are fully up-to-date, and participate in training and research in womens health.
