HCV-specific support service (Client Navigator); co-infection support services; HIV and Hep C prevention education, Counselling, Referrals, Advocacy, Disability and Treatment Information, and Pre/Post test Support; support for women leaving the sex trade.
Provides awareness, education, advocacy, housing, and support related to HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C, marginalization and persons at risk, in order to develop healthier communities.
HIV/AIDS case management and referrals are available.
Addiction Supportive Housing: Provides supports and housing to those individuals who have successfully gone through detox and wish further assistance to become contributing community members.
The AIDS Society of Kamloops, for over 20 years, has provided support to individuals living with an/or affected by HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C. The agency began as a small grass roots organization in response to the growing pandemic of HIV/AIDS. The agency operates to increase capacity within the communities in this region to support clients in living independently and enjoying the best possible quality of life. The agencys collective body of knowledge and expertise has resulted in our clients being able to extend and enhance their lives.
Social justice is one of the guiding principles of the AIDS Society of Kamloops (ASK). The agency is dedicated to promoting inclusion, equality and participation for all members of society. ASK collaborates with local and global partners to promote the protection of basic human rights for all. The agency encourages shared private and public responsibility in the delivery of education and awareness activities in the community.
