The Deer Island Health Centre provides primary health care to the population of Deer Island. The Centre operates Monday to Friday during regular business hours with a physician on site for 1 day per week and a nurse practitioner available 3 days a week. Additionally, clinics and information services are provided by visiting specialists and other health care partners. The health centre staff work closely with a number of community partners to meet the health care needs of the community
