Evergreen Centre For Street-Involved Youth

For Everybody, Youth ages 16-24. Offers medical services for people without health cards. One of five branches of Yonge Street Mission, Evergreen focuses on meeting the complex needs of Toronto's large street youth population. A wide variety of programs and services are available to street-involved youth under 25. Evergreen is a safe place where street youth can rest, eat, obtain health care, receive parental relief and get help with finding a job or a place to stay. Here, street youth can find a place to belong, someone to talk to and people who genuinely care. Services include: Drop-In Centre Specialized Ministries including Arts Programs; Sports Programs; Drug and Alcohol Awareness Employment Resource Centre An additioanl service, the Evergreen Health Centre offers various medical care, dental care and mental health services. Health services including primary medical care and dental care, check ups, lab tests, including HIV testing * birth control, pregnancy tests, immunization, prenatal care, perinatal services, prenatal and parenting classes * optometry, eye glasses * chiropractor * nutritionist * physiotherapist * psychiatrist * addictions counselling * traditional Chinese medicine * foot care, socks and shoes * health education * counselling on health issues * referrals * ID replacement * access to diapers, formula, baby food * no Ontario Health Insurance or identification required * child care available
