Provides care for substance-using women and substance-exposed newborns in a single unit. Helps women and their newborns stabilize and withdraw from substances, keeping mothers and babies together whenever possible and continuing to provide care from antepartum to postpartum and between hospital and community. Provides access to counselling, life-skills training, and instruction in parenting techniques. Provides specialized care to babies withdrawing from prenatal substance exposure. Self or physician referral. Lack of a doctor, ID, or medical card is not a barrier to service.
