The Miramichi Health Centre is made up of a team of health-care professionals who work together as part of a collaborative practice. The team includes a physician, nurse practitioners, a registered nurse who also serves as the health centre's coordinator, and administrative support personnel. The centre focuses on health care, health promotion and disease prevention initiatives and offers a range of health services including management of acute and chronic illnesses, smoking cessation counseling, routine injections and immunizations, blood pressure monitoring and wound care. The centre also provides preventive health services for well-woman and well-baby examinations. Patients are seen for scheduled appointments and unscheduled appointments on a call-ahead basis.
