Tri-Cities (Port Moody, Coquitlam, & Port Coquitlam) Public Health Unit

Offers public health nursing services which include screening, assessment, counselling, referral, follow-up, and health promotion activities for all age groups, as well as communicable disease control. Also offers speech language pathology, audiology, and nutrition and dental health services. Programs and policies focus on chronic and infectious diseases, tobacco use, and education regarding public health issues. Also offers prenatal and postnatal services, and childhood immunizations. Provides needle exchange services including distribution of clean needles, sterile water, and alcohol wipes; disposal of used needles; and health information to encourage safer injection practices. Also provides opioid users with free Take Home Naloxone Kits (Narcan) that can be used to reverse the effects of overdoses from opioids like fentanyl, heroin, methadone, morphine, and oxycodone. STOP HIV nurses are also available at this location.
