Safeworks outreach provides STI testing and treatment services to individuals with barriers to sexually transmitted infections and blood-borne pathogens (STBBI) care. The services are offered at community-based organizations, AHS facilities, and other outreach locations. The Safeworks Outreach program aims to minimize risks and improve health outcomes for people and populations disproportionately affected by sexually transmitted infections and blood-borne pathogens (STBBI) through an outreach model of care comprised of registered nurses and outreach workers. This program provides STI testing, treatment, care and support for people experiencing multiple barriers to care including but not excluded to Indigenous peoples, 2SLGBTQI+ people, unhoused individuals, people who use substances, BIPOC individuals, and immigrant and new comers. Services include: STI testing, treatment, counseling, and follow-up for HIV, hepatitis (A, B, C), syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia vaccinations risk reduction supplies and information (e.g. condoms, safer injection supplies, naloxone kits) safer substance use and overdose prevention and response education for clients case management services and resource navigation
