Sanctum is Saskatchewans first hospice with respite and supportive care for people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Sanctums vision is for a community in which individuals requiring this assistance are able to attain their optimum level of health from their perspective, minimizing their vulnerability and maximizing their control and dignity. Sanctum recognizes the need to provide care with humility and without prejudice. This will be achieved through a philosophy of holistic care and demonstration of Sanctums core values of compassion, collaboration and innovation.
Programs
Sanctum 1.5: Sanctum 1.5 is a 10-bed prenatal care home which supports high-risk and HIV positive pregnant women at risk of having their infants apprehended at birth. Call at (+1)306-954-5035
Hart: HART consists of a specialized nurse, addictions worker, Peer Support worker and community support worker that have a HIV, HCV network of services and community support including access to HIV physician support, HCV physician support, Methadone physician support, Infectious Disease Specialists and Obstetrician Specialists and community resources to increase client capacity to manage the symptoms of their disease in a community setting.
PORT (Prenatal Outreach and Resource Team): a multi-sectoral approach that includes partners in health, social services, and the community. The program is designed to create a culture shift in Saskatchewan that wraps support around pregnant women with complex life situations by providing early and effective interventions in pregnancy that will reduce health complications in mothers and their infants and prevent children from being apprehended at birth.
