StreetWorks Supervised Consumption Site

The CTS site is a part of Streetworks services. The site offers a low-barrier, stigma-free environment for people to use pre-obtained drugs under the supervision of Harm Reduction Workers, Community Engagement/Security Workers and Paramedic staff. CTS prevents overdose deaths, reduces the spread of infectious diseases like HIV and Hepatitis C, increase access to health and social services, and creates a safer community by reducing drug use in public spaces and providing options for safe syringe disposal.

Services that are available include:

  • Supervised consumption (injection, intra-nasal and oral consumption)
  • A supportive and calm environment
  • A judgment-free space with supportive staff, including Harm Reduction Workers, Staff with Lived or Living Experience and Paramedics.
  • Wound Recognition Program
  • Paramedics provide overdose prevention and intervention (i.e. use of oxygen and naloxone)
  • Weekly Groups (Women’s Group, Drop-In Group)
  • Wrap around supports such as referrals to drug treatment, withdrawal management, mental health services, housing, primary care, Hep C, public health nurse ( point of care testing & vaccines) Supports and referrals
  • Safer substance use education
  • Harm reduction supplies, naloxone kits, sharps containers, returns accepted
