The Sudbury Action Centre for Youth began in 1986 as an employment centre. The centre offered casual labour for people who were recently released from prison.

Within a year it became apparent that many of the youth registering for the labour program had shown a need for specialized support.

The Sudbury Action Centre For Youth is a non profit, charitable organization that provides essential services to at risk youth. Testing done Thursday afternoon at The Point. Call to book an appointment.

The youth drop-in centre provides a safe, non-judgemental environment where youth are able to gather for the purpose of socialization, recreation and access to social services. It is an alternative to roaming the streets and is equipped with a billiards table, kitchen and computer area with free internet access. The no-pressure environment allows youth to feel comfortable and, when they are ready, access the services they need.

The Outreach Team offers education on addiction lifestyle, safer sex practices, and safe disposal. They provide medical and harm reduction supplies, testing, and personal support. Supply delivery service is available for large orders looking for more discretion.
