Thunder Bay District Health Unit
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit manages many programs and services that promote health, prevent disease and injury, and protect all residents throughout the district. As a leader in creating healthy communities and healthy environments, the TBDHUs mission is to meet the public health needs in these three areas by delivering accessible programming of the highest standards.
Sexual Clinic Services include:
- Sexually transmitted infection (STI) and blood borne infection (BBI) testing based on assessment
- HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) testing, including anonymous HIV testing
- Birth control education and medications including “the pill”, “the patch” and “the morning after pill”
- Cervical Screening
- Pregnancy testing, discussion about options and appropriate referrals
- Counselling and education on sexual health issues, with referrals to other community services as necessary
Same day doctor appointments are available Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays for urgent needs only. Phone lines open at 10am to book a same day appointment – do not leave a message, please call back.
