Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health is a community health service that focuses on promoting and protecting the health of their community.
WDG Public Health offers a wide range of clinics, classes and courses, including the following programs:
* Prenatal and parent-child support programs (including prenatal nutrition, breastfeeding clinics, speech and language services, KIDS LINE)
* Immunization clinics (flu clinics, travel advice and vaccinations, general immunization).
* Food handler training (education and certification)
* Sexual health clinics and services (free and confidential services including birth control options, sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing and treatment, pregnancy tests and counselling, Hepatitis A and B immunizations, anonymous HIV tests).
* School health: clinic services, immunization program, health promotion and education, dental screenings and financial assistance through the CINOT program (Children in Need of Treatment) to cover the cost of urgent dental care for children in eligible low-income families.
* Control of Infectious Diseases: a variety of services to investigate, report and control communicable diseases.
* Harm Reduction (needle exchange program, counselling and referrals, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C testing).
Other Services include:
* Investigation of air quality concerns in public buildings, schools or rented dwellings
* Food premises inspection
* Monitoring the quality of drinking and recreational water and testing private well water
* Information and investigation of any situation where the public's health may be affected
