Giishkaandago’Ikwe Health Services

The Community Health Team provides essential wellbeing support through health promotion, protection and prevention services and activities to individuals, families, and communities across the lifespan. Our team of nurses work within the communities to build and integrate healthy best practices with the ways of being within that community to support overall Mino Ayawin (good health).

Services Provided:

  • Vaccine Preventable Disease

  • Control of Infectious Disease

  • Sexually Transmitted and Blood Borne Infections – Confidential screening, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, surveillance and contact tracing. Sexual health counselling and support.

  • Child and Family Health

  • Health Promotion and Injury Prevention - Education and support that includes lifestyle choices such as smoking cessation, healthy eating and physical activity that promote good health (Mino Ayawin). Harm reduction strategies such as safe needle use, overdose prevention and distribution of Naloxone kits.
